Beginning his career with today’s leading retailer Next in the early days of its own remarkable brand story, he went on to join the Burton Group and later to help relaunch Paperchase for WHSmith.
In 1993 Karl founded pioneering agency, Visual Thinking, which made its mark by championing the importance of fully aligned and consistently executed retail brand delivery ⎼ long before it became the essential boardroom level topic in today’s competitive business landscape. For two decades the company was a trailblazer and forerunner of original thought, ground-breaking instore initiatives and brand innovation programs leading a generation of change.
Karl established podcast series The Retail Exchange in 2017. Determined to give listeners a look into what it’s like behind the scenes of established and emerging brands around the world, the podcast offers an unfiltered journey into the remarkable stories of the leaders that have shaped and delivered brand success, and created brand stories worth studying along the way. As a regular guest host Karl, sits down with some of the most influential people in the world of brands, experts and thinkers to discover untold truths, unlearned lessons and important insights.
